Peter Stähli (*1964) is a graduate electrical engineer with advanced degrees in energy technology and business management. He is also an alumnus of the University of Michigan’s executive program in innovation marketing. Since 1992, Stähli has been an independent entrepreneur, founding several companies and achieving successful exits. In 1999, he co-founded the Swiss Economic Forum, establishing Switzerland’s leading business and networking platform. Stähli led the Forum as Co-CEOs and Chairmen for 18 years.
Over the past 15 years, as an expert for the Swiss Economic Award - a premier prize for young entrepreneurs in Switzerland - Stähli has assessed more than 1,500 startup business plans and conducted over 300 company visits, providing in-depth analyses and due diligence evaluations. In 2016, Peter Stähli sold the Swiss Economic Forum to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Through the Forum’s growth initiative, Stähli facilitated CHF 100 million in growth capital (debt and equity) to support startups and SMEs. Starting in 2018, he established the Swiss Entrepreneurs Foundation, initiated by Switzerland’s Minister of Economic Affairs, along with a CHF 250 million fund.
Today, Stähli is recognized as a strategy and due diligence expert in his own consultancy and serves on multiple boards of directors. He still holds a management mandate with the Swiss Entrepreneurs Foundation, under the patronage of Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin.
